The Dark Side of Landr and Modern Music Distribution Scams
In today's digital age, independent artists rely on online distributors to get their music onto streaming platforms. Unfortunately, some of these services operate in ways that raise serious concerns about transparency, reliability, and fairness. One such case is Landr, a company that markets itself as an all-in-one music distribution and mastering platform. While everything may seem fine at first, many artists report falling into what feels like an elaborate scam.
Unreliable and Non-Existent Support
One of the biggest issues with Landr is its so-called customer support. The company offers a 24-hour response time for paying users, but in reality:
Support may not respond at all.
When they do respond, it can take weeks, and answers are often irrelevant or generic.
Instead of helping, support agents engage in gaslighting, deflecting issues, and even displaying racist behavior.
Broken Content ID and Distribution Failures
Landr's distribution services promise global reach, but the reality is far from it:
YouTube Content ID does not work, leaving artists unable to track or monetize their music.
Releases often get stuck in "pending" status for months, especially on YouTube Music and TikTok.
Unlike other distributors, Landr frequently invents "problems" to justify delays or blocks.
Invasive Data Requests and Financial Red Flags
Another alarming aspect of Landr’s operation is its approach to artist payments:
The company demands excessive personal information, including bank statements and proof of address.
Despite verifying personal data, artists report being arbitrarily blocked from withdrawing royalties.
There is no way to adjust tax settings, and payments are subject to high fees and currency conversion losses.
Many artists find themselves suddenly unable to withdraw earnings, with support providing misleading or contradictory responses.
Landr asks for an unreasonable amount of personal data, including proof of address, bank account statements, and other sensitive information. Now, I feel unsafe knowing they have access to such personal details while refusing to process my payments.
Refunds and Subscription Scam
A recurring complaint among Landr users is their refusal to honor refund requests:
Annual subscriptions are locked in, even when Landr fails to deliver on promised services.
If a user complains about frozen releases or missing payments, support suggests deleting the account – which means forfeiting any owed royalties.
Despite failing to distribute music properly, the company refuses to refund distribution fees.
A Warning to Independent Artists
Landr presents itself as a convenient platform for independent musicians, but the reality is far from their marketing claims. Many users report being trapped in a cycle of poor service, lost money, and endless frustration.
If you're considering using Landr, think twice.
The Music Distribution Industry is a Scam
The reality is that the entire modern music distribution industry has become a scam. Artists are being exploited through hidden fees, payment delays, and restrictive policies. Rather than relying on these outdated and dishonest platforms, independent musicians should seek new ways to share and monetize their work. Whether it's through direct-to-fan sales, blockchain-based solutions, or alternative platforms, it's time to rethink music distribution and take back control.
Evidence of Landr’s Practices
I have all the necessary proof to back up these claims, including screenshots, emails from support, and records from my account. These documents clearly show the deceptive practices, lack of support, and financial obstructions imposed by Landr. Artists should be aware and cautious before committing to this service.
